The Diocese of Orange’s 2nd Korean Catholic Center, outgrowth from Korean Martyrs Catholic Center, Westminster
First Director – Fr. BongHoon Gabriel Jang of Cheong-Ju Diocese. Began with 280 families from Anaheim, Fullerton, Cerritos, and Orange.

First Mass celebrated on Pentecost at Servite High School Auditorium in Anaheim. Named “Anaheim Korean Catholic Center”.

Bought a church located in Fullerton (Highland Ave.), where daily mass and other activities were celebrated. Sunday mass celebrated at Servite High School.
1989.07
Bishop of Orange, Bishop McFarland, authorized the name change to “St. Thomas Korean Catholic Center.”
1994.04
Purchased current church site of 5 acres; renovated Borax Laboratory to fit as a church.

Celebrated first mass amidst building renovations.

First Korean-American priest from the Diocese of Orange, Fr. Alex K. Kim, appointed as director of St. Thomas.

Start of parish-wide Small Faith Communities.
